Both parties have been saying the immigration system in US needs comprehensive reform and it is broken. Even though, each party has multiple chances to pass bills to reform immigration system while they held the power in congress, senate, and president. Now, the political division widen so much that they fight over little issues and forgot the real issues.
America’s historical openness to immigration has enriched its culture, expanded economic opportunity, and enhanced its influence in the world. Evidence clearly shows that immigrants provide significant economic benefits. Immigration is important for the following reasons:
It enriches culture and enhances influence in the world.
Immigrants complement native-born workers and raise productivity through innovation and entrepreneurship.
It helps grow the economy.
Immigrants are innovators, job creators, and consumers with significant spending power.
Legal immigration
United States is the land of opportunity, but immigration needs to be controlled in a way not to hurt US workers. However, immigration should be in one of the following circumstances:
Merit-Based System: We believe that merit-based system is an adequate system to be used to attract individuals who can contribute to the economy by having in-demand skills needed.
Family-Based System: With consideration of some factors, family-based immigration needs to be adjusted upon the number of applicants, the population of the country, the contribution of the family as long as they will not be in the assistant program list.
Asylum: Upon war or disaster, the immigration system will consider accepting a percentage of the fleeing families to enter US as the United Nation deemed to be fair share in the world.
Undocumented immigrants
Still Minor: Must follow the status of parents.
Became an Adult: Conditional residency upon meeting certain qualifications.
Adults on Entry: Must follow the right procedure to become legal resident or will be subject to deportation. Procedure must be implemented within certain frame time and to fall in one of the following categories:
Asylum: following the asylum procedure guidelines.
Work: getting job sponsorship within work permit guidelines.
Marital Status: getting married from a US citizen and follow marital status change procedures guidelines.
Any other status will be decided on case-to-case bases.
Deportations
Any person will be subject to deportation in the following condition:
Any person enter United States illegally will be subject to deportation unless fall into one of the categories listed in undocumented immigrants’ section.
Any person committed any type of felony while holding temporary or permanent resident.
Any person committed class one felony or capital crime even after become U.S. citizen by neutralization right after serving jail time.
Budget & The Debt
Few areas we need to have decent budget for:
Education: Our education has got so bad that we fall behind many other countries. (See Education Section)
Military: Other countries begin creating threats to the US while the military is falling behind. (See Military Section)
Infrastructure: Our roads and highways are in need of serious work. Driving safety is a real concern and needs to be taken care of.
Healthcare: Healthcare is a major concern. While other countries are ahead of the US in healthcare system, yet we spend more money than what we should. However, we need to reform healthcare and then if needed to increase the budget on inform decision. (See Healthcare Section)
Other areas need cuts and modification to an acceptable level without getting ourselves into deficit.
Rejecting free trade which allows unfair practices such as currency manipulation, dumping, government subsidies of exports, punitive tariffs, etc. and supporting fair trade by using both domestic law and international Treaties and Trade Agreements to disallow practices that are generally agreed to be unfair. However, US has a right to impose tariffs designed to insure continued domestic production of goods that are critical to the constituents.
We appreciate and respect every thought
